Hockeyville

You may have heard the interviews on the radio stations this week about getting Cranbrook to be named this years' Hockeyville winner. Here is an update from Colin Campbell who is helping to lead the way ...

There are only 39 days left to support the nomination, the website address is www.cbc.ca/hockeyville At the moment we are in fourth place in our region with 18 articles, however Hazelton in first place has 228 articles in support. Without your help this nomination is not going to make it to phase two. There are two communities from each of the four regions and one wild card to make the wild card we need to be third, to guarantee the nomination we need to be first.

This is not about winning first prize, its not about hockey, It is about community pride, about being excited about Cranbrook, what it is and where it’s going. We have so much to be thankful for here and we need to take the time to write it down on the website and let the country know that we are proud of our community and if we win the first prize we will spend the money to improve our arenas and to help make it an even better community.

I can’t do this alone, you need to pitch in, forward this to your friends, go to the website and write a paragraph in support, join facebook and twitter and become a fan of Hockeyville.

I know some of you are not from Cranbrook, so why not go to Hockeyville and nominate your community too? It’s free, I’ll support your nomination as well. Let’s all show the country that we have pride in our nation and in our achievers, be they hockey players, skiers, writers, musicians and everyone else.

Thanks for your support.
Colin J. Campbell
