ICE Weekly Report

ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 25-21-2-5 record (15-9-1-2 at home, 10-12-1-3 on the road, 7-2-5 in overtime) and tied for sixth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and tied tenth overall in the WHL…This week the ICE will host MOOSE JAW (February 6) and SPOKANE (February 7) before traveling to CALGARY (February 8).
DANONE NIGHT: When the ICE host the MOOSE JAW WARRIORS on February 6 it will be DANONE NIGHT…Fans in the attendance will have the opportunity to win SAVE ON FOOD gift cards and an ICE jersey.
EKCCU NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts the SPOKANE CHIEFS on February 7 it will be EAST KOOTENAY COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION NIGHT…Fans at the game will have the opportunity to toss pucks to win up to $5,000 in prizes while supporting KOOTENAY EAST YOUTH SOCCER.
PLAYOFF PACKAGES AVAILABLE: 2009 playoff packages are now available until Friday, February 27th at the KOOTENAY ICE Office…Eight game ticket packages are $120.00 for Adults, $96.00 for Seniors and Students, and $64.00 for Youth…For more information on playoff packages, phone 417-0322.
EARLY BIRD SEASON TICKETS: The KOOTENAY ICE have announced that EARLY BIRD SEASON TICKETS for the 2009-2010 season will be the lowest prices ever…Adult tickets will be $399, Seniors (65+ before September 18 with valid ID) $299, Students $249 (25 and under with a valid Student ID) and Youth $199 (4 to 12 years old)…These prices will be in effect until Friday, May 29…For more information call the KOOTENAY ICE Office at 417-0322.
SUPER SIX FLEX PACKS: The sale of SUPER SIX FLEX PAKS continues…You get six game certificates to use at your convenience – total flexibility…SUPER SIX FLEX PAKS are available in Adult, Senior, Student and Youth packages.
FAMILY PACKS: The ICE have FAMILY PACKS on sale for Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday home games during the 2008-2009 season…FAMILY PACKS are $45.00 and include two adult tickets, two youth or student tickets, a parking voucher, a game program voucher, and two McDonald Happy Meal vouchers…For more information, or to purchase a FAMILY PACK, call or visit the KOOTENAY ICE Office.
DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY is 14-0-1-0 when leading after the second period, 4-19-0-3 when losing and 7-2-1-2 when tied…The ICE are 17-2-1-1 when they score the first goal of the game and 8-19-1-4 when their opponent scores first…KOOTENAY is 17-13-2-4 when outshooting their opponent, 7-7-0-1 when being outshot and 1-1-0-0 when the shots are tied…ANDREW BAILEY is tied for eighth in the League in power play goals with ten…TYLAN STEPHENS, who needs two more points to reach 100 in his WHL career, recorded his second WHL career hat trick on January 27 against REGINA…IAN BARTEAUX needs to play in eight more games to reach 200 WHL career games.
INJURIES: STEELE BOOMER and NATHAN LIEUWEN will both be out of the KOOTENAY line up indefinitely with concussions…DUSTIN SYLVESTER will be out of the ICE line up eight to ten weeks with an ankle injury…TYLER VANSCOURT will be out of the KOOTENAY line up four to six weeks with a shoulder injury.
ONE YEAR AGO: After 53 games of the 2007-2008 season the ICE were 30-18-4-1, after 54 games 30-18-4-2 and after 55 games 31-18-4-2.
