Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE beat the Red Deer Rebels 4-3 in an overtime shootout in WHL action on Sunday night.
ICE opened the scoring on rebound goal from Joe Antilla who crashed the creased and finished off the play after the goalie stopped.
Rebels tied it on 5-on-3 power-play as Landon Ferraro found a open spot in the slot an one-timed a wrist shot for his team leading 30th.
Rebels took a 2-1 lead on a power-play defelction from Jordie Deagle.
ICE tied it 2-2 on powerplay as Ian Barteaux’s centering pass was pushed in by Antilla for his 2nd of the game.
Rebels scored another power-play goal late in the 2nd period as Carter Smith scored on a partial breakaway.
ICE tied the game 3-3 as Dominik Pacovsky’s shot was deflected by Tylan Stephens. The ICE won the shootout 2-1 with both teams using 3 shooters.
ICE scratches – Nathan Lieuwen (concussion indefinite, 8th missed game), Tyler Vanscourt (shoulder 2-4 weeks, 10th missed game), Dustin Sylvester (ankle season ending, 21st missed game), Steele Boomer (concussion indefinite, 18th missed game).
