ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 3-2-0-1 record (2-1-0-0 at home, 1-1-0-1 on the road, 0-0-1 in overtime) and tied for third place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and tied for 11th place in the WHL…This week KOOTENAY will conclude their road trip in MOOSE JAW (October 13) before returning home to host REGINA (October 16), EDMONTON (October 19).

TAILGATE PARTY: When the ICE host the REGINA PATS on October 16 the KOOTENAY ICE FAN CLUB will be hosting a TAILGATE PARTY…The party will run from 5:00 – 6:30 pm in the Front of the Rec Plex and there will be a BBQ, door prizes and more.

HOME DEPOT: When KOOTENAY host the PATS on October 16 it will be HOME DEPOT Night…Fans in attendance will have the chance to pick up some great stuff from HOME DEPOT.

PEPSI KIDS CLUB: If you are between the ages of 5 and 12 you can sign up to be part of the PEPSI KIDS CLUB for only $17.00…Members receive a PEPSI KIDS CLUB gift, membership card and a PEPSI KIDS CLUB punch card that will get you into eight games for $5.00 per game…Members will also be invited to attend three private events…To sign up visit the KOOTENAY ICE OFFICE.

ROSTER UPDATE: The ICE have 25 players on their roster, including three goalies, seven defensemen and 15 forwards…KOOTENAY begins the 2010-2011 season with 19 returning players and six first year players.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are 3-0-0-0 when leading after the second period, 0-1-0-0 when losing and 0-1-0-1 when tied after the second period…KOOTENAY is 2-0-0-0 when their score first and 1-2-0-1 when their opponent scores first…KOOTENAY is 21th in the WHL in overall power play (8.3%)…The ICE are 12th in the League in overall penalty killing (81.5%)…MATT FRASER needs to play in four more games to reach 200th career ICE games…JAMES MARTIN needs to play in three more games to reach 100th with the ICE…MAX REINHART needs to record two more assists to reach 50 in his WHL career…BRAYDEN MCNABB and JOE ANTILLA both played in their 200th career games on October 1 against SPOKANE…JESSE ISMOND played in his 140th career game with KOOTENAY on September 29 against RED DEER.

INJURY: BRAYDEN MCNABB will be out of the ICE line up day to day with a shoulder injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After seven game of the 2009-2010 season the ICE were 3-4-0-0, after eight games were 3-5-0-0 and after nine games were 4-5-0-0.

DRAFTED PLAYERS: MAX REINHART – Calgary Flames (3rd Round, 2010 NHL Draft), BRAYDEN MCNABB – Buffalo Sabres (3rd Round, 2009 NHL Draft), JOEY LEACH – Calgary Flames (3rd Round, 2010 NHL Draft), DREW CZERWONKA – Edmonton Oilers (6th Round, 2010 NHL Draft).
