Kootenay 6 Lethbridge 3 Game #5

Lethbridge, Alb – The Kootenay ICE scored 3 goals 75-seconds apart early in the 2nd period on their way to a 6-3 win in Lethbridge on Saturday night.

Lethbridge opened the scoring as Mitch Maxwell was open in the high slot and his shot sailed in high on the glove side.
A few minutes later ICE goalie Nathan Lieuwen made a sliding pad save to stop a 3-on-1 break
ICE tied the game on a 3-2 on break that found Drew Czerwonka with the puck behind the goalie and he tucked it in for the goal.
On a late 1st period power-play Matt Fraser banged in a Brayden McNabb rebound.

In the second period the ICE scored 3 goals in 1:15 (the Franchise Record for fastest 3 goals by the ICE is 1:05, Jan 14/97 in Regina) and later in the period they hit 2 goal posts and 1 cross bar.
Max Reinhart extend his point streak to 5 games and his finished off his forehand wraparound by flipping in the rebound over the fallen goalie.
Christian Magnus pushed in a rebound while falling down in the low slot to make the score 4-1.
Hurricanes changed goalies as Dylan Tait replaced Brandon Anderson.
Czerwonka scored his 2nd of the game as he came out from behind the net and backhanded a shot along the ice that went through the new goalies’ legs. It was his 2nd career 2-goal game.

On the 1st shift of the 3rd period the Hurricanes' goalie got stuck behind the net and Jesse Ismond found the puck in time to have an open net.
Hurricanes scored 2 goals midway through the period from Philip Tot and Graham Hood.

Brayden McNabb left the game in the 2nd period and is out day-to-day with an upper body injury.

ICE will visit Swift Current on Monday afternoon.
