Prince George 6 Kootenay 3 Game #4

Cranbrook, BC – Prince George scored 3 3rd period goals in a 6-3 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Wednesday night. Brett Connolly led the offence with 3 assists.

Cougars opened the scoring with 2 goals 33 seconds apart from Spencer Asuchak and Charles Inglis.

In the 2nd period the ICE scored 2 goals 66 seconds apart to tie the game 2-2.
The ICE got their 1st power-play goal of the season as Jesse Ismond’s behind the net pass found Drew Czerwonka in the high slot and his one-timer beat the goalie on the stick side.
On a delayed penalty Joe Antilla scored from the deep corner that beat the goalie on the glove side.
Cougars regained the lead on a rebound goal by Troy Bourke.
15 seconds later Max Reinhart tied it up 3-3 on a rebound near the crease.

In the 3rd period the Cougars’ got the eventual game winner on power-play goal from Taylor Makin.
A couple of minutes later James Dobrolowski got a rebound to make the score 5-3.
Taylor Stefishen added an empty netter.

The crowd was the smallest in Rec-Plex history.

The last time Prince George won a game in Cranbrook was November 4, 2003.

ICE goalie Brett Teskey made his 1st WHL start.
9 ICE players in tonights’ lineup were on the roster the last time they played the Cougars in Cranbrook on October 24, 2008. (Hayden Rintoul, Brayden McNabb, Matt Fraser, Steele Boomer, Kevin King, Drew Czerwonka, Max Reinhart, Joe Antilla and Nathan Lieuwen)

Cougars’ over-age forward Taylor Stefishen made his WHL debut after playing for NCAA Ohio State the past 2 years. (Brother Adam played w/Prince George 00-01 70 GP 11-9-20 195pm)
The only Cougar in tonight’s line-up that played the last time they were in Cranbrook 2 years ago was Brett Connolly. Nick Buonassisi and Patrick Stanfield are also on the roster and played in 2008 but were scratched from tonight’s game.
Head Coach Dean Clark now has 396 career regular season wins.

The ICE will start a 4-game road trip Saturday in Lethbridge.
