Kootenay 4 Red Deer 1 Game #11

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 3 3rd period goals in a 4-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels in WHL action on Friday night.

Red Deer opened the scoring as Colten Mayor chipped a backhand shot along the ice that beat the goalie on glove side.
ICE tied the game before the end of the period as Elgin Pearce found Jesse Ismond open in the slot and his wrist shot beat the goalie n the glove side.

In the 3rd period the ICE took a 2-1 lead as James Martin fed Joe Antilla on the breakaway and he went for the deke and almost lost control but stuffed it into the net.
Rebels pulled their goalie with 2 minutes to go and Kevin King got the puck into the Rebels’ zone. Red Deer defenseman Colin Archer mis handled the puck in front of the empty net, dove but couldn’t stop it from rolling into the net.
Rebels pulled the goalie again and Joey Leach scored from outside the zone.

ICE Scratches – Brayden McNabb (6th game shoulder day-to-day), Brock Montgomery.

ICE are in Edmonton on Sunday afternoon.
